Our Current Finance Director is Mr. J K Kachingwe, he has been the Finance Director for the Municipality of Marondera for the past thirteen years.
He is a highly experienced Financial Manager and Administrator, having held various positions such as Audit Manager (Urban Development Corporation, 12 years) and Administration Manager (Plan International, 5 years).
Mr. Kachingwe holds a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, as well as a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Additionally, he is a Registered Public Accountant.
✅ The Finance Department is responsible for financial management, revenue collection, budgeting, and ensuring sound fiscal governance of the municipality.
Revenue Collection

Our Revenue Collection Section is under the Finance Director's Department focusing on:
- ✅ Receipting and Banking
- ✅ Billing
- ✅ Meter Reading
- ✅ Debt Collection
- ✅ Finance Reporting
Currently Marondera is utilising an Enterprise Rource Planning (ERP) from Axis Solutions to effectively Bill and provide the best financial support for the Marondera Municipality
Expenditure
Mr Muzawaka, is our Accountant Expenditure
Our Expenditure Section is under the Finance Director's Department focusing on:
- ✅ Formulating and implementing expenditure strategy and policy
- ✅ Expenditure costing, control and payment
- ✅ Daily cash posting of payments to the cashbook
- ✅ Preparation of monthly expenditure listings
- ✅ Preparation of utility bills
- ✅ Creditors reconciliation and invoicing
- ✅ Bank Reconciliations
- ✅ Preparation of VAT and informal traders tax returns
- ✅ Authorization of payments
- ✅ Preparation of monthly reports
- ✅ Filing of payment vouchers and bank statements
Valuation
Our valuation Section is responsible for :
- ✅ Preparation of the valuation roll
- ✅ Supplementary valuation roll
- ✅ Valuation of properties for sale and rentals
